Styling for winter can be a lot trickier than any other season, especially if like me, you like to look put together and have an outfit that ties together. As coats and jackets are more of an investment piece, we tend to have fewer at hand.
But that shouldn’t mean you can’t look put together and stylish while staying warm. In fact, a great coat can pull the whole look together, especially if you go for something that is versatile; a neutral colour like black, camel and navy is perfect and it should be easy to throw on.
When shopping for a winter coat, there are a few things that can help you find something that will last for seasons to come. Firstly as mentioned before is the colour. If you are looking for a coat to take you from day to night, it’s best to stay in the neutral colours mentioned above.
The second thing to look for is the cut. Go for something that is a little longer. Something that stops around the knee as it is such a flattering length whatever your height or weight.
Lastly, a coat with buttons and collars is such a classic that it is sure to be around season after season, meaning your cost per wear will be so worth it.
A classic coat is the camel coat. It’s something that can be worn during the day or the evening and the colour works so well with whatever you pair it with.
I have chosen an all black outfit as I feel the camel coat adds a touch of colour, class and sophistication to the entire look. An all black look is always a classic, but by adding the camel coat, it helps make you stand out.
