Black Friday Battle Plan

We are rapidly approaching sale season (aka my favourite time of year) so I’m sharing not only my latest sale purchase but also some helpful tips on how to navigate Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

This River Island dungaree dress is my most recent sale find and it was such a bargain!  I’ve had so much wear out of it already.  Unfortunately, it is now sold out but I thought I’d share it regardless to get everyone in the sale shopping spirit.  It’s amazing the bargains you can sniff out of a sale and this is proof they don’t have to be seasonal.  I love snapping something up I can wear time and time again for years to come.

I’ve worn this dungaree dress so many different ways recently; dressed up, casual or even for work meetings.  It’s an ideal winter staple to have in your wardrobe as it’s perfect for layering.  You can change it up depending on what you layer underneath it (polo necks, shirts or fine knits) or the shoes you pair with it (heels, boots or ballet pumps).  In this look, I went for something cosy and casual which would be perfect for running around town in.  If you’d like to see how I styled this for a more fun and playful look, click HERE to be taken directly to it.

Black Friday Battle Plan:

If you’re Christmas present buying then work out beforehand who you need to purchase for and write a list.  This will help to prevent any silly impulse purchases you’ll later regret.

Figure out a realistic budget and then imprint it on your brain.  You don’t want to start January with massive credit card bills so be realistic about what you can afford.  It helps to decide how much you want to spend on each person beforehand and write it next to their name on your all important list!

Start deal hunting now and find the cheapest place to buy each gift.  This will be your benchmark.

Know your rights! If you buy online you have 14 days to change your mind and get a full refund including the cost of standard delivery (applies to most items but not all – there are some exclusions).  If you’re buying in store you may not be automatically entitled to a refund just because you’ve changed your mind.

Don’t assume big retailers will be best, sometimes smaller sites can often have better deals.

Remember to use cashback websites or cash in your loyalty points where possible to save those extra pennies.
